Chapter 14: "When he doesn't get the ball enough he whines after the game about it."
Nope. He's asked questions about whether or not he was satisfied with the number of balls thrown his way in a game and he replies by saying he'd like to be more involved in the offense. It never ventures from that theme.
Take his press conference after the first 2008 Redskins game, for example (which the Cowboys lost). A reporter asked him if he was happy with the number of balls thrown his way. Owens responded by saying, "I'm a competitor, so I'm gonna have to say no. I want the ball." This, by the way, was said with a perfectly calm demeanor, like basically everything else in his press conferences.
Hardly "whining" by anyone's definition. One could just as easily assume he wouldn't say anything about it if they'd never asked him.
But the lay public doesn't seem to understand the fact that he's responding to a question from someone else. Most journalists don't print the questions; only the responses, in an effort to give the masses the impression that Owens just stormed up to the podium and offered up unprompted comments about not getting the ball as much as he'd like.
